Domaine des Verchères is located in the north of the Mâconnais region in Burgundy.
In 2023, Alexandre and Maxime joined the family business to make wine alongside their father Jean-Christophe, their uncle Rémi and their grandfather André, thus representing the seventh generation of DUPUIS to work on the estate.
Our vineyard extends over 36 hectares, certified HVE (High Environmental Value). It comprises 20 hectares of Chardonnay, 10 hectares of Pinot Noir, 5 hectares of Gamay and 1 hectare of Aligoté.
One of our special features is that we mulch every other row, a practice that naturally enriches the soil with organic matter and encourages biodiversity.
We are convinced that the vitality of a wine is rooted in the soil: it is by preserving its balance that the full expression of the terroir is revealed.
Our vines are planted exclusively on clay-limestone soils, with a variety of clays depending on the slope, giving each cuvée its own complexity and character.
ぶどう畑の所有主や借地人は、年間をとおして仕事に取り組み、テロワール/terroirの表現を守り続けています。ぶどうを育て、ワインの醸造を手がけるほか、自ら販売まで携わっている例もあります。ブルゴーニュ/Bourgogneには3,800のドメーヌがあり、うち1,300のドメーヌがワインを自ら販売しています。平均栽培面積は8haです。
ブルゴーニュ/Bourgogneにおけるネゴシアンの役割は時代とともに複雑化しています。もともとは熟成途上のワインを買い取り、熟成と販売を担っていましたが、近年はぶどうを直接買付け、醸造そのものを手がける例もみられます。これは、自ら醸造するワインの品質を完全にコントロールするためです。
ぶどう栽培家を組合員とし、協働で醸造と販売の発展に取り組んでいます。ブルゴーニュ/Bourgogneには23の協同組合があり、ワインワイン生産の16％を占めています。
