Domaine Albert Morot has been a family-run estate since it was established in 1820. The current owner is Geoffroy Choppin de Janvry, who took over from his aunt in 2000.
Thanks to a lot of hard work on soil quality, restricted yields and ruthless thinning during harvesting (done by hand), the estate continues to put the accent on greater respect for grapes, wines and terroirs and is currently being converted to organic methods.
On our 8 hectares, we mainly grow wines of the Beaune appellation, including such premiers crus as Les Teurons, Les Bressandes, Les Grèves, Les Toussaints, Les Marconnets, Les Aigrots and Les Cent-vignes.
To these must be added another premier cru wine, a recognised speciality of Savigny: La Bataillère aux Vergelesses.
ぶどう畑の所有主や借地人は、年間をとおして仕事に取り組み、テロワール/terroirの表現を守り続けています。ぶどうを育て、ワインの醸造を手がけるほか、自ら販売まで携わっている例もあります。ブルゴーニュ/Bourgogneには3,800のドメーヌがあり、うち1,300のドメーヌがワインを自ら販売しています。平均栽培面積は8haです。
ブルゴーニュ/Bourgogneにおけるネゴシアンの役割は時代とともに複雑化しています。もともとは熟成途上のワインを買い取り、熟成と販売を担っていましたが、近年はぶどうを直接買付け、醸造そのものを手がける例もみられます。これは、自ら醸造するワインの品質を完全にコントロールするためです。
ぶどう栽培家を組合員とし、協働で醸造と販売の発展に取り組んでいます。ブルゴーニュ/Bourgogneには23の協同組合があり、ワインワイン生産の16％を占めています。
